short stories/thoughts in progress

I've been thinking about my childhood lately. How around this time of year I still get tickled with the idea of spring and summer. Summer holds numerous memories of capture the flag, water balloon fights, ice cream trucks, fishing, bike rides, camping and spying the male neighbors taking a shower. I remember the heat of the payment being so hot it felt like lava as I rushed to safety from the volcanic eruption of the sun. For me it was a magical place in time where there was next to nothing to worry about except who you were going to hang out with the fallowing day. I loved every second of it.

As an adult I find that I have transferred similar feelings as if I were 11 years old again. I continue to feel overjoyed when the weather starts to change and when the sun shines so bright my eyes begin to squint. Innocents merge and young minds develop into their own and if you're lucky, you maintain a childish demeanor in a body that is grown.

I look forward to the future. I worry, I crave, I aspire…there is just so much more living to do.

"it's not that we're scared, it's just that it's delicate..."
